Provides Bonny Gas Transport (BGT) and other 3rd party Shipowners with Ship Management Services (Operational, Technical & Manning) ensuring that the vessels are managed and operated to the highest possible standard in a safe, reliable and efficient and cost-effective manner, in full compliance with all applicable Flag State, Group and Company requirements to meet the commercial shipping needs of NLNG, 3rd Party Shipowners and other Customers.
Ensures that managed vessels are managed and operated in full compliance with all applicable Flag State, Group and Company requirements that effective procedures are in place to monitor performance and compliance, and that systems for dealing with shipping emergencies are in place and regularly tested.

In acquiring the business elements knowledge, all ship management staff are trained to world class standards through the Ship Management Knowledge Transfer Agreement with STASCo and Anglo Eastern Ship Management accordingly prior to obtaining Document Of Compliance. Fleet Vessels are operated under a Document of Compliance (DOC) issued by the Bermudan and Bahamian Governments, after due audit of the unit and its associated Integrated Management System (IMS). The DOC is in effect the required license to operate as a Ship Manager and covers each element that affects or could affect the quality of vessel management services provided throughout its business.
The Integrated Management System complies with IMO Resolution A 741. (18)"International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention (International Safety Management (ISM) Code)", the ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 standards

Responsible for maintaining up-to-date and functional management systems that encompass fleet and office processes and fully meet the requirements of legislation and certifying authorities, Monitor routine HSE related matters, analyze accidents and incidents, develop remedial action to prevent recurrence, share learning with the Fleet and Office personnel and contribute to the development of strategy within NSML & NLNG Shipping Division on all business activities to promote the NSML & NLNG HSEQ Management policies within the managed vessels.
Responsible for managing the activities of the Support Team that include the administration of ship registration, certification and survey, the maintenance of statutory documentation up-to-date, the review and appraisal of safety equipment and the promulgation of safety advice and information.
Responsible for managing the internal programme of compliance audits, administer documentation, liaison with auditing authorities and Flag State and being the focal point for the provision of compliance advice to management and staff onboard and ashore to ensure highest possible standards of management and operation of fleet vessels.
Responsible for maintaining an up-to-date Shipping Emergency Response Plan and associated documentation to ensure effective procedures and resources are in place to respond to shipping emergencies on a 24hr/day, 365 days/year basis.
Provide Emergency Response Support (ERS) to the Casualty Room and/or the On Scene Team (OST) and decide in consultation with Emergency Service Provider on the sufficiency of 3rd Party support to facilitate required response in emergency situations during major incidents or accidents. Emergency Response Services are provided to all fleet vessels by the provision of expert resources, together with the necessary infra-structure should a vessel be in distress.
It ensures delivery of statutory requirements under the ISPS code and manages the voyage security risk assessment process, maintaining active contact with internal and external specialist security focal points, to ensure that effective incident investigation procedures are in place and deliver statutory requirements under the ISPS Code.
Responsible for ensuring that effective incident investigation procedures are in place. Ensure that HSSE performance is effectively monitored, data analysis is undertaken and summary management information is prepared and monitored on an ad-hoc basis and ensure that the unit is staffed with the resources required for effective discharge of their responsibilities
Develop, implement and monitor relevant strategies, policies, procedures, budgets and activities with the aim to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective day to day operation of the managed Fleet.
Monitor and analyse the performance of the fleet and its staff including remedial strategies to ensure safe, efficient and cost effective management of the fleet. Protect the fleet, crew, cargo, environment and NSML / NLNG reputation.
Ensure the availability of the correct manning levels and the appropriate level of expertise and experience of staff. Ensure the standard of care required to cope with legal and regulatory requirements for operating a LNG Fleet under various Flag & Classification Administrations, including the provision of procedural guidance to meet expectations of all stakeholders.
Monitor and oversee communications related to the Fleet. Provide expert advice to ship and shore teams for the overall proper running of the fleet.
Develop and implement a long-term maintenance strategy for the fleet. Develop and implement refit programs as well as associated budgets. Set and monitor targets for refit activities in line with statutory requirements and requirements for Owners and charterers.
Coordinate with external parties on, Technical and Operational issues including in-service repairs, the commissioning and delivery of newbuild LNG carriers into the fleet. Ensure acceptable manning levels with the required skills and competencies. Ensure smooth incorporation of the newbuild carrier into operational service.
Procurement Services for the vessels are provided through support for the acquisition of goods and services for the fleet, including logistics. Throughout, emphasis is placed on optimizing total lifecycle costs by working with suppliers and the use of the latest techniques, including procurement solutions.
